The art part of art therapy involves using simple media and simple assignments to evoke personally meaningful creations. The therapy part involves an exploratory process, one in which a person hopefully taps into their own inner wisdom. Uncovering, understanding and expressing feelings and ideas helps people to be more aware of and in charge of their own lives.

Tracy Hanlon, MS, lectures and provides Individual and Group Art Therapy, and Laughter Workshops. An HHI alumna, Tracy overcame Epstein-Barr virus and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and graduated from the Life-Change program in 1993.
