Obesity Rates in America are Now a National Security Issue.
As a full time practitioner, counselor and medical physician in the Hippocrates Life Change Program, I am afforded a daily opportunity to see how proper attitude, diet and fitness are the foundation of a long and disease-free life. My interest in active aging began to evolve after embarking in the field of alternative medicine and joining the Hippocrates tem. With the introduction of hyperbaric oxygen, inhalated oxygen therapies, and whole food IV and internally implanted nutritional supplementation widely used in the conquest of disease, I began to now extraordinary effects in preserving youth. Time and again, guests and patients who participate in these therapies tell me that they have not felt so well since childhood. Remarkably, the beneficial effects of these oxygen treatments last for weeks. It is no wonder the rich and famous often choose to spend so much time doing oxygen therapies.
Exposing food to radiation energy disrupts the organic processes essential to life and the reproduction of organisms. This is the statement that the United States Government uses to explain the benefits of irradiated food. As you can see this raises the term "Dead Food" to a new level. The initial research that was done in this life altering process showed us that it can weaken the immune system. Agriculture and distribution interests superceded the health consequences that this electron/nuclear beam process presents. Below is a partial list of damages this method presents to food.
By increasing our awareness, we increase our power. By increasing our power, we increase our ability to affect change in any particular area.
Consumers who buy "certified organic" cut back on their consumption of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and support agricultural practices that will sustain the soil for generations. As Ralph Diller, who sells his organic grains to Arrowhead Mills says:
Other than the theory of non-violence, other than the guideline thoughts of great philosophers such as Dr. Albert Schweitzer (who stated, "I am conscious that flesh eating is not, in accordance with the finer feelings and I abstain from it."), or Plato, ("Me gods created certain kinds of beings to replenish our bodies, they are the trees, the plants and the seeds."), our reasons for vegetarian lifestyle are more down-to-earth, more urgent in their voice for our destinies.
As a child in Lithuania, Ann had seen her own grandmother’s natural methods heal wounded German and Russian soldiers during World War One, and she knew firsthand that miracles could be made to happen with ‘harmless foods’ and liquids, without resorting to drugs and surgery.
The nectar of rejuvenation, the plasma od youth, the blood of all life. The elements that are missing in our blody's cells expecially enzymes, vitamins, hormones, and mucleic acids can be obtained through this daily green sunlight transfusion (Viktoras kulvinskas, Author of Survival into the Twenty First Century).
Long overdue is a renewal of the glory days of hemp, a highly nutritious and eco friendly plant used to make everything from paper, protein powder, and building materials to socks and lip balm. The public is gradually becoming more aware, thanks to a much needed shift towards greener living and heightened awareness surrounding food, of the myriad benefits afforded by the incredible plant, Cannabis sativa.
What a century! The scientific and technological breakthroughs made in our quest to understand the biological needs of the body have astounded us throughout the 1900s. We are seeing a dramatic shift in the public’s attitude about the role that diet and lifestyle play in our overall health and longevity. More people are realizing that in deviating from the natural order, we lose something invaluable and life-giving. Indeed, it is no longer considered “natural” for people to eat a diet that is overcooked, over processed, denatured, sprayed, and possibly even irradiated before being preserved and packaged. But how did we get to this point? Let’s take a quick look back.
“To understand juice therapy requires an understanding of juice itself. How would you define juice? We define it as water, flavors, pigments, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Juice is all of these substances working synergistically to give your body the materials that promote healing, energy, and protection from disease. But beyond what we can define, there is a mystery left undefined. It’s like the miracle of birth. There is a miracle of energy supplied by live plants that comes from nothing else of this planet. After all is investigated and analyzed, it still can’t be fully explained. We’re not saying that juices are ‘magic bullets’. They should be part of a diet that is a high-quality, comprehensive approach to wellness. We do know that juice therapy has worked to bring about recovery from illness for thousands of people, many of whom had been given no hope to live.” Juicing for Life (Avery Press).
Food is our fuel. You don?t select your gasoline based on the color of your car. So too our fuel choices should be based on what we know our body needs. We have all indulged in something that brings a smile to our face, from sight or thought alone. All too often, we are drawn in by catchy jingles and TV spots. Only to know that aching belly or extra trip to the lavatory was a result. Factors such as time, price, mood, upbringing, present company and habit influence our meal choices. Many of us try healthier options when they are presented, and may even notice differences or slight improvements in our health. Switching from soda pop to V8 is likely a step in the right direction, but it is basically like trading a can full of sugar and acid for a bottle of salt and vegetables not suitable for sale whole.
Author of the best-selling book China Study, word-renowned nutritional researcher and Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, presented a lecture and workshop on August 2311 and 24" at Hippocrates Health Institute. Dr. Campbell, who is noted as the originator of the most comprehensive dietary studies ever conducted, presented two days of profoundly insightful information from over four decades of research in nutritional science.
Optimal health is not possible without the benefits of pure drinking water because the cumulative effects of ingesting water contaminants puts a severe strain on our bodies’ ability to fight off sickness and disease. Did you know, pure water is responsible for carrying nutrients and oxygen to cells, cushioning joints, hydrating skin, converting food into energy, removing toxins and wastes, empowering the body’s natural healing process and enhancing overall good health? But the wrong kind of water can pollute, clog up and hinder your wellbeing and vitality. Now you can have pure water and peace of mind.
When I was a kid, water came from the tap. It came in a glass, or maybe even straight out of a garden hose or a water fountain. No one carried water in a bottle, unless you were camping and then it was a metal canteen, not a plastic bottle. Nowadays, bottled water is so commonplace that many restaurants serve it automatically asking only, “spring or sparkling?” While it may be true that city water is not the healthy elixir it once was, are we really doing ourselves and the environment any service by buying our water in bottles?
For the last 6000 years, Ayurvedic medical practitioners prescribed turmeric (curcumca longa L.) to alleviate pain, balance digestion, purify body and mind, clear skin diseases, expel phlegm, and invigorate blood. Recently, neuroscientists, noting the low cultural incidence of Alzheimer’s disease in elderly individuals living in Indian villages (just 1% of those aged 65 and older seem to contract the degenerative brain condition) turned their attention to the possible effects of flavonoids on brain function—specifically the photochemical curcuminoids present in turmeric. Today, Western medical science is proving, in study after study, the validity of turmeric as an anti-cancer, anti-aging, anti-oxidant, and, of course, anti—Alzheimer’s agent.
In today’s environment of trends, style, and hipness, one must search through the effects before the truth appears. Our perception of image is manufactured in Hollywood and today is represented by anorexic young ladies and "stud puppy" boys. This sculptured reality is misguided and corrupting to the imagination of the public. Here in North America our government has admitted that bordering on 60% of us are severely overweight and our children are less fit and heavier than ever. Sadly, we are now exporting this disorder worldwide with our fast thinking, fast food mentality.
