Jasmine will attract love into your life and is is known as a powerful aphrodisiac. The Jasmine flowers are thought to be magical and are often worn by high priestesses. Its scent relaxes you and promotes a sense of well-being, peace, and tranquility. Jasmine is also used to encourage prophetic dreams in some people.

Jasmine is an intensely fragrant semi tropical shrub with clusters of small trumpet shaped cream white flowers. Jasmine is normally used as an infusion to make tea or used in the form of an essential oil. While the plant can easily be grown at home for its therapeutic purposes, no part of the plant is edible.

Jasmine is a fast growing plant that can be grown anywhere in the world when planted indoors in pots. It can be planted outdoors in hardiness zones 9 & 10 but, it does not tolerate the colder winters in norther climates. You can purchase the seeds from seedman.com or on Amazon. It prefers full sun but, tolerates partial shade. It likes rich, well-drained soil. Water regularly and fertilize every two weeks with a compost side dressing or a compost tea. The plant will grow up to 7 feet tall!

In the case of night-blooming Jasmine (Cestrum Nocternum), the fragrant flowers open at night and close during the daytime. This is they type of Jasmine we have growing here at Hippocrates. This time of year its’ powerful scent can be enjoyed in numerous places while meandering around after dark along the pathways of our beautiful 50 acre campus. Spanish Jasmine or Arabian Jasmine are very highly scented both day and night.
