Dr. Discepola, aka “Dr. Tina”, brings to HHI a vast and varied career in both acute care and chronic care medicine that spans nearly three decades.

After graduating from medical school and completing an emergency medicine residency, Dr. Discepola went on to work in emergency care in New York City (NYC) for the next 10 years. She spent much of her time in the ER dealing with non-emergent problems, and tackling complications of chronic illness. She realized that these chronic illnesses were the result of very poor lifestyles and diet, and had the potential for reversal.

Her own personal health struggles allowed her to explore many alternative healing modalities. It wasn’t until her daughter was born with a serious congenital cardiac condition that Dr. Discepola was able to truly experience the healing power of acupuncture, cranial-sacral manipulation, and dietary manipulation. As her personal journey in holism evolved, so did her medical practice.

She ultimately bid farewell to emergency medicine, and created her own integrative practice combining the best of western and eastern practices. She practiced at the renowned Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in NYC, alongside Dr Frank Lipman, as well as her private office in New York and Boca Raton, Florida.  Dr. Discepola found her home in the world of Functional Medicine, providing care by looking for core causes of disease and treating in the most non-medicinal way possible.

In 2015, Dr. Discepola joined the team at HHI as Medical Director. An avid hiker, kayaker, and dancer, she embraces her new Florida life and “clean and green” lifestyle.  She is proud to be a part of an Institute that teaches the power of raw live food and the need for elimination of toxins on a daily basis.

“It is so rewarding to watch the improvement, not only physically, but spiritually, in patients involved in HHI’s Life Transformation Program. It is even more rewarding to understand we are dramatically improving quality of life and potential longevity. Each one of us has the power to alter our future events”.
