Dr. Brian Clement has spent more than three decades studying nutrition and natural healthcare. He has received graduate degrees in both naturopathic medicine and nutritional science. Since 1980 he has directed the Institute's growth and development as well as facilitated the implementation of such progressive natural health treatments as: the Living Food Diet, Wheatgrass Therapy, Dark Field Microscopy, and the essentials of mind-body therapies. Over the years Brian has assumed the role of a health advocate, motivating a very eager public to take action to improve their lives.
In his role as a progressive educator, Brian has conducted countless seminars, lectures, and educational programs, traveling extensively to more than 25 countries around the globe. At home in the United States, he has taken the message of this widely successful program to the entire country. In recent years he has been commissioned by government-supported organizations to establish, organize, and direct health programs in Denmark, Switzerland, Greece, and India. Brian has also written numerous books in which he explores the various aspects of health, spirituality, and natural healing. His recent best-selling book, Living Foods for Optimum Health, has been acclaimed by Marilyn Diamond, co-author of the book Fit for Life, as "an important and eminently readable book for the new era of self care," and by Coretta Scott King as a "landmark guide to the essentials of healthy living." In response to growing public demand, he has produced an educational video series on the practical application of Hippocrates Health Institute's Life Transformation Program, the Institute’s signature three-week detoxification and cleansing process. In addition, Brian created the Hippocrates Health Educator Program, a nine-week intensive class that certifies students to teach the Hippocrates Living Foods Lifestyle, with graduates in over 12 countries. His progressive ideas on natural health approaches, coupled with his vast theoretical and practical scientific experience, have earned him a reputation as a leading expert in the natural health field. Brian's professional opinion is highly regarded and much sought after; he is a frequent guest on television, radio, and in print, and acts as a resource expert for several publications. Anna Maria Gahns-Clement, PhD, LNC Co-Director
Anna Maria embarked on her vocation as a practitioner of natural healthcare when she assumed the directorship of Sweden's Brandal Health Center in Stockholm, an internationally recognized and well-respected center for health recovery. Her advanced education in nutritional science, iridology, bodywork therapy, touch-for-health, and nursing healthcare serve to enhance the instinctive qualities that, as a natural healer, she already possessed.
After kicking off her career in natural health advocacy by founding the first living food organization in Scandinavia, she became a member of the Natural Health Care Coalition, a government-supported effort in unifying the field of complementary health care in her native Sweden. Anna Maria has since become Co-Director and Chief Health Administrator of Hippocrates Health Institute and moved with the Institute from its original location in Boston to Florida. She trained in this method under American Biologics in California and assisted their professional staff in furthering their education in this field. Anna Maria is the author of four books on the application of natural health methods in family and pediatric care. She also collaborated in the creation of a series of books about the Hippocrates Life Transformation program. She lectures extensively around the country as well as around the globe employing a style that is uniquely down-to-earth, sensible, and accessible to a varied audience. As multifaceted as her life is, the one role Anna Maria considers to be the most important, the most challenging and, undoubtedly, the most enjoyable, is her role as mother to her four children, whose stellar health is a testament to her care and the Hippocrates lifestyle.
Scott Josephson, M.S. is the Director of Operations at Hippocrates Health Institute, a premier life-changing property in West Palm Beach, Florida. Scott is a national level conference presenter throughout North America and is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2005 director of the year for teaching excellence, the 2010 specialty presenter of the year for Can Fit Pro and the 2011 citizen award from ECA. Scott has a master's degree from the University of Miami and is frequently published covering a wide range of industry topics. In addition, he is on the international advisory boards for Can Fit Pro and American Fitness Professionals and Associates. Scott has provided services for numerous television, film, and music celebrities, Wimbledon champions as well as athletes from the New York Giants and New York Mets.
Troy comes to The Hippocrates Institute with an array of experience and skills. Born with many health challenges, Troy found his way into greater health and wellbeing through eating whole, raw and living foods.
His passion for learning about living foods and their nutrition led him to educate himself on how to grow wheatgrass, sprout seeds and create a vegetable garden. The increase in his skills and knowledge supported him in establishing a business whereby he was both growing and distributing super nutritious green foods, including wheatgrass and sprouts.
He has been instrumental in teaching individuals “how to grow own their own” and will be the main facilitator for the Health Educator Program in delivering the educational component relating to successful sprouting and wheatgrass growing.
Bonnie Bracco-Wishney Assistant Director to Dr. Brian Clement
Bonnie brings to Hippocrates more than 30 years of experience in administration, management, marketing, and accounting. Bonnie’s position as Assistant Director to Dr. Brian Clement is multifaceted and her responsibilities include interacting with guests on a personal level via phone and e-mail and coordinating Dr.Clement’s lectures worldwide.
Andy has served as a mind/body psychotherapist at Hippocrates since December of 1990, using and teaching radical feeling-centered, body-focused awareness tools to help Hippocrates guests discover the essence of thyeir problems and arrive at solutions. He conducts private sessions with individuals, couples, and families, and also facilitates the ongoing Healing Circle therapy and support group. A guest expressed of Andy's counseling style: "The humor Andy uses is relaxing and effective. His style appears effortless and easy, and yet is direct and keen."
Andy expounds on his deep feeling therapy approach and on his model and techniques for change in his book, Deep Feeling, Deep Healing: The Heart, Mind, and Soul of Getting Well.
Antony has been working with Hippocrates guests since 1994, providing individual and group sessions, as well as lectures. He employs various effective brief-model techniques from Eastern and Western traditions of holistic healing while integrating his knowledge and experience in the fields of psychology, philosophy, and theology, in which he holds graduate and advanced graduate degrees. Antony's work is focused on state-of-the-art stress management using hypnotherapy, Progressive Relaxation, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Guided Imagery, Regression, pastoral counseling, and spiritual consultations. His lectures are centered on holistic approaches to health and healing from a mental health perspective.
Shula is a Hippocrates Health Educator and an alumni for the past 25 years. She has extensive experience in clinical nutrition and Quantum Reflex Analysis (QRA). She owned and operated the first organic, raw, vegan and kosher restaurant for 10 years in Delmar, California.
Shula holds an M.Ed and a specialist degree in psychology. She represents Hippocrates and promotes its Life Transformation Program by lecturing on the west coast and in Israel.
Solomon is a Hippocrates alumni for the past 25 years. He is a scientist and a technical legal expert on supplements, environmental issues and biodegradable plastics. He has extensive experience in medical research, supplements development, and medical instruments evaluation.
Solomon holds a M.Sc. degree in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in physical polymer chemistry specializing in plastics degradation. He is a scientific adviser to Hippocrates and he promotes its Life Transformation Program in professional health organizations on the west coast and in Israel.
Kathryn’s firm belief that “life is a journey of continuous transformation” inspired her to advocate for alternative health, nutrition, and wellness and motivated her to enroll in the Hippocrates Health Educator program. Upon graduating, Kathryn saw an opportunity to implement her idea for the “Take-It-Home” program at Hippocrates. While Kathryn continues to help guests implement the HHI lifestyle at home, she now also serves as Director of Guest Services. Kathryn takes great pride in welcoming new guests, getting to know them, and making them feel at home in their new surroundings.
Rosemary DaVila is the Spa and Therapy Director for the Oasis Therapy Center at Hippocrates Health Institute. As a seasoned spa director and hotel manager for five-star resorts, she most recently came to Hippocrates from the Four Seasons Resort of Palm Beach, where she consulted to create and design their new spa and salon. Her expertise in incomparable customer service has created a harmonious atmosphere at the Oasis. Rosemary looks at Hippocrates’ holistic therapies, alternative modalities and the body-mind-spirit connection as an exciting new chapter in her career and as the undeniable trend of the future for the spa industry. When not at the Oasis Therapy Center she does volunteer work with the ALS Association and is an avid animal lover.
Tom, R.N., B.A., is a Registered Nurse, Hippocrates Health Educator, and stage IV cancer survivor. After Tom’s experience with cancer he found the Hippocrates Health Institute to be the pinnacle of living foods lifestyle education and has integrated these principles in his daily life to keep healthy and happy. Tom is passionate about empowering people with the living foods lifestyle and enjoys his work, which includes providing guests with Ondamed (biofeedback) and health consultations.
Caron Barr has spent over twenty years as a healthcare professional, serving a wide range of patient care needs. As a Registered Nurse here at Hippocrates Health Institute, Caron works with guests doing health consultations, live blood cell analysis and nutritional counseling to support a raw vegan lifestyle with whole food supplementation. Through her knowledge of holistic medicine, Caron helps guests find their path to optimum health. Years of studying and practicing alternative medicine, Reiki, and Water Massage (Multi-Dimensional Movement Arts) have confirmed to her that balance is necessary for the body to begin the healing process. Caron feels privileged to be a part of the Hippocrates family.
After working as the Front Desk Manager at Hippocrates for a year, JoEllen obtained the position of Store Manager, where she is able to implement her 30 years of retail management experience. Since reading Fit for Life at the age of 16, JoEllen has been committed to a holistic lifestyle and natural diet. Her passion for healthy living and successful retail management is evident in her lively approach to her job.
After graduating from the Hippocrates Health Educator program, Ken was hired by Hippocrates to assist the head chef for one year. He soon assumed this pivotal role and has since enriched and expanded the repertoire of delicious, nourishing cuisine served to our guests and visitors. As a former proprietor of his own award-winning vegetarian restaurant, his executive culinary skills were well-recognized before coming to Hippocrates. In addition to preparing cuisine for the guests and leading “raw cooking classes” to them, Ken offers monthly classes on gourmet living food preparation for the general public.
In February 2008, Carole joined the Hippocrates team as the Director of Finance. Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Carole has accrued extensive experience in numerous areas of finance and accounting and contributes a wealth of knowledge and professionalism to the department. Her strong skills in computer software have enabled her to restructure the accounting department and develop internal controls and protocols for the Institute.
Eric is the Director of Maintenance at Hippocrates Health Institute (HHI). Eric’s passion for construction and renovation started at a young age when he began helping with his father’s general contracting business. Since then, he has worked in all areas of construction. Always seeking a new challenge, Eric’s career led him to overseeing the maintenance department at HHI. He enjoys using his diverse skill set to create and maintain a beautiful and pleasant oasis for guests and staff to enjoy. When he’s able to get away from his duties at Hippocrates, Eric likes spending time outdoors, visiting the many parks and beaches of south Florida.
Rick joined Hippocrates Health Institute in April 2008. Prior to that, he lived in northeast Pennsylvania working in customer service and management. To make a good impression on Rick, ask him about his family.
Sato serves as the Information Technology Director for the Institute. He brings his wealth of experience, technical skills, and management capabilities to his current position where he supports the administrative and management operations. He has been in the Information Technology field for over 15 years, during which he held a number of positions including System Analyst, Support Consultant, and Network/System Administrator. Since joining the HHI team, he has rebuilt the I.T. infrastructure by adding newer and environmentally friendly technology such as IBM blade servers, installing the Cisco small business phone system, and advancing the Institute into the social media arena. He received his B.S. in Information Technology from Florida International University in Miami Florida.
Gino Montoya, originally from Peru, has been the Director of Housekeeping at Hippocrates Health Institute since August 2010. He has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry in hotel and resort settinsg, along with hospitals and nursing homes. Gino describes his duties at Hippocrates as very fulfilling, especially when guests are pleased with the professional services they receive. He always looks to go above and beyond to exceed guests' expectations.
Alea M. Deeter, B.S., M.A., Ed.S. Director of Health Educator Program
Alea Deeter, received her Ed.S. in Education Administration from the University of New Mexico with an emphasis in Educational Leadership. She graduated from Webster University where she earned her Master of Arts Degree in Guidance and Counseling and additionally, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Education from the Eastern New Mexico University. For the past 30 years, Alea has been involved in the field of education. She has developed and successfully implemented a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary approach to facilitating the learning needs of culturally diverse educators. Her contributions include: effective classroom teaching, both primary and secondary level school counseling, and school administrator which led her into taking a lead role with schools in districts’ “restructuring” efforts.
For the past nine years, Alea has been involved in healthy lifestyle choices and brings to the Hippocrates Institute the capacity to research “cutting edge” raw food information, assimilate, synthesize and relate the information in an educational forum that facilitates both growth and understanding.
It is noteworthy to mention that in the early 1980’s, Alea designed and developed one of the nation’s first aerobic fitness instructor certification programs, Forever F.I.T.. One of her many accomplishments as she continually seeks to forge the way toward educating individuals in the fields of greater health and wellbeing.
