Umbilical hermiorrhapy was performed under urgent circumstances. After the operation I was told there had been water around my lower stomach area, which was not normal. Further testing determined that I had cirrhosis of the liver. I was given six months to a year to live.

What should I do? I called my dear friend Becky, who has worked at Hippocrates for over ten years, and asked her opinion. With Brian Clement and Becky’s help I came to Hippocrates as soon as possible and I was looking at a 360-degree change in my lifestyle.

I started with the diet of living foods, which I found I liked very much. The green drinks and especially the wheatgrass seemed to be a delicious change for my liver, a far cry from my diet of prime rib, side of lasagna and, of course, several very dry vodka martinis. With the help of all the wonderful employees, my three-week stay not only changed my life but also saved it.

After returning home I’ve tried to stick to the program as much as possible. I grow my own sprouts and also wheatgrass. I also juice many greens daily.

To my doctor’s amazement, over one year later, my liver is now filtering and rebuilding itself daily! I can honestly say, physically and mentally I have never felt better in my life and, most importantly, I just feel great about being able to help anyone who wants help in getting the demon of alcohol out of their life.

Thanks again to Brian, Becky and all the staff who encouraged me to pursue this new healing life for myself.
