Avocados are a wonderful thing to add to your diet. Native to South America, the flesh and the seed are excellent sources of soluble fiber which gets plaque out of your arteries and lowers cholesterol. This can help people reverse arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries.) Avocados is also an excellent source of protein and one of the highest sources of glutathione. This gives you energy, helps cells to repair themselves and is anti-aging!
Avocados are rich in the following nutrients:
Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated Fats – The good fats!
Pantothenic Acid – A B-vitamin that helps us to metabolize food efficiently.
Dietary Fiber – Necessary for a healthy digestive system.
Folate – An essential nutrient for cell and tissue development and repair.
Vitamin K – Vital for blood clotting.
Copper – Assists in the absorption of iron and promotes a healthy nervous system.
Here at Hippocrates Health Institute we have several avocado trees on campus which are harvested in season for the benefit of our guests.
