Exotic Fruit Spotlight: Jaboticaba

Jaboticaba is a rare tropical exotic fruiting tree native to Brazil. The deep purple fruit is sweet and resembles the appearance and taste of muscadine grapes. The fruit will get to about one inch in diameter and grows right on the trunk and the main branches of the tree. Jaboticaba is high in protein, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, antioxidants, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and other important minerals. The fruit is anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. It has traditionally been used for relieving:

  • Asthma
  • Arthritis
  • Diarrhea
  • Sore throats
